NYCruise & Stazioni Marittime S.P.A. Sign International Sister Seaports Agreement
NYCruise has signed an International Sister Seaports agreement with Stationi Marittime S.P.A of Genoa, Italy. The agreement officially links NYCruise’s Manhattan and Brooklyn terminals with Stazioni Marittime’s Genoa port in shared efforts to increase traffic and operational efficiencies between the two. The partnership supports NYCruise’s Initiative to Expand Transatlantic Travel to New York City as a Destination Port.

NYCruise Generates over $1.1 Billion
Cruise Lines International Association’s (CLIA) newly released Economic Impact Study revealed that the New York City cruise industry generated over $1.13 billion in direct spending to the New York economy in 2007, a 3.7 percent increase over the previous year. The 13,507 cruise related jobs generated in New York represent 6.0 percent of the industry’s total U.S. direct expenditures, ranking the state fourth in the nation in terms of cruise industry spending.
